Kaduna Farmers Receive Fertiliser Boost Ahead Of 2026 Farming Season • Channels Television

A fresh agricultural support initiative aimed at boosting food production and improving farm yields has commenced in Kaduna State, with the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) launching the distribution of 200 bags of fertiliser to farmers ahead of the peak of the 2026 farming season.

The programme, flagged off on Monday in Kaduna, forms part of a wider fertiliser distribution campaign across the seven North-West states designed to enhance agricultural productivity and strengthen food security in the region.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of the National Productivity Centre, Baffa Baba Danagundi, explained that the initiative is the third empowerment programme implemented for members of the Tinubu Support Group in the North-West, following earlier interventions focused on women, youth empowerment and skills acquisition.

“We have distributed fertiliser across the North-West, and today we are flagging off the distribution of 200 bags in Kaduna. We appreciate President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and also thank the Kaduna State Government for its support,” he said.

He noted that although the fertiliser was being distributed through the support group, priority would be given to members actively engaged in farming.

“Our members include farmers and people from different walks of life. Those who are into farming will receive the fertiliser so they can cultivate their farms. This support is intended to boost agricultural production, not for beneficiaries to sell the fertiliser,” he added.

Also speaking, the Kaduna State Coordinator of APC Ciki Da Waje, Musa Bawa, described the fertiliser distribution as another empowerment initiative aimed at supporting members of the group.

According to him, members have benefited from several empowerment programmes, and he commended President Bola Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani for their continued support.

Bawa also disclosed that the group has established mobilisation structures across the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State in preparation for the 2027 general elections.

He said coordinators are carrying out grassroots mobilisation to build support for the All Progressives Congress (APC), President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani.

Expressing confidence in the party’s prospects, Bawa said the APC is well positioned to record a strong performance in Kaduna State during the 2027 elections, attributing the optimism to what he described as the achievements of the federal and state governments, as well as the group’s mobilisation efforts.

The fertiliser distribution is part of the Tinubu Support Group’s broader efforts to support its members while encouraging increased agricultural production and improving food security across Nigeria’s North-West region.
