The Agunechemba Joint Security Strike Force has carried out a large-scale bush-combing operation across forests and remote areas of Enugwu-Ukwu Community in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, as part of efforts to rid the community of kidnappers, bandits and other criminal elements.
The operation, approved by the Enugwu-Ukwu Security Council and the Council of Village Chairmen and Secretaries, covered the Onungene mainland in Uruekwo Village and extended to the expansive forest behind Okutalukwe Secondary School up to the boundary with Nise Community.
The exercise was coordinated by the President-General of Enugwu-Ukwu Community, Mr. Patrick Nworji, alongside the Director of Administration and Finance of Enugwu-Ukwu Agunechemba, Mr. Nnamdi Onuzulike, while the Director of Operations and Commander of the security outfit, Group Captain Chidi Nwenweh (retd.), led the joint team of central and unit operatives.
Armed personnel combed the forests and searched difficult terrains in a bid to identify and dismantle any criminal hideouts within the community.

Speaking after the operation, Onuzulike said the exercise demonstrated the community’s resolve to deny criminals any safe haven.
According to him, “the operation sends a clear message that no part of Enugwu-Ukwu Community is conducive for crime and criminality”.
He added that local farmers, construction workers and cattle rearers encountered during the exercise were profiled and questioned before being allowed to continue their activities after security operatives established they posed no threat.
Following the bush-combing exercise, the security team embarked on a show-of-force patrol across major roads in the community, including the Enugwu-Ukwu axis of the Agu-Isionye Road linking the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway and the Nawfia axis before returning to base.
Authorities described the operation as casualty-free and reaffirmed that the Agunechemba Joint Security Team would continue round-the-clock patrols to safeguard lives and property in Enugwu-Ukwu.
