The 29-year-old England forward, who started every Premier League match last season and scored nine goals, had been linked with a top-flight exit but will now lead the Hammers’ promotion push.
Bowen, who joined from Hull City in 2020 and has 280 appearances and 85 goals for the club, took over the captaincy in 2024. Though he missed out on Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad, his commitment remains unwavering.
“I’m staying to bring this club back to the Premier League where we belong,” Bowen told the club website. After meeting directors in Prague, he said their ambition “interests me a lot—this club means everything to me.”
The Conference League final hero from 2023, who scored the iconic last-minute winner against Fiorentina, has not signed a new extension—his deal runs until 2030—but is fully focused on the campaign ahead.
“I’ve grown from a boy to a man here,” Bowen added. “I live my life as captain and as a fan—I always ask what they’d want if they were on the pitch.”
With head coach Nuno Espirito Santo confirming his stay in May, West Ham begin their Championship season away to Burnley on 16 August, following a Carabao Cup opener against Portsmouth.
