Osun Poll: I’ll not prioritise one LG over others

From Lateef Dada, Osogbo

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the August 15 election in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, says if elected governor he will not prioritise one local government over another, a contrast he made with the current administration of Ademola Adeleke.

He promised that his government will ensure a fair distribution of dividends “without fear or favour.”

Speaking at the Obokun/Oriade federal constituency rally held at Ibokun and the Ijebu-Jesa Market Square yesterday, Oyebamiji said he aims to “turn around” Osun’s economy through mechanized farming.

He said his plan is to pursue aggressive mechanized farming across agrarian communities, make farming more easy, attractive, and productive, and link farming communities to markets by building rural roads while rehabilitating existing ones.

At Ijebu-Jesa, Oyebamiji pledged to “jettison nepotism” and ensure that all parts of Osun benefit from good governance, rather than only specific areas.

“Like I said during our campaign flag-off in Ile-Ife, I have also assured our traditional rulers in Obokun/Oriade that our administration will not prioritise one local government over the other as the current government is obviously doing.

“We campaign for vote across all the local government areas and I can assure you by the grace of God we shall return the favour without bias.

“On our way to this area, we have seen the level of neglect of in public schools, primary health care centers and road infrastructure, if elected governor I will ensure the rehabilitation of schools, PHCs and employ qualify teachers and health workers to expand access to quality health services and education for our children,” Oyebamiji said.

He also reiterated promises to improve public schools rehabilitation,
primary health care centres, and road infrastructure, while ensuring the employment of qualified teachers and health workers.

During a royal visit to the Ogboni of Ibokun, Oba Festus Adegboro, and the Egboro of Ijebu-Jesa, Oba Moses Agunsoye, as well as other traditional rulers, Oyebamiji received blessings and prayers for his ambition.
