Popular Afrobeats musician, David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has sent a congratulatory message to Sheila Ebana, the mother of Spanish football star Lamine Yamal, following Spain’s victory at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The singer shared a post on his Instagram story on Monday to celebrate Ebana shortly after Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 in the World Cup final played in New Jersey.
Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal in extra time to secure the trophy for Spain, making 19-year-old Yamal the first teenager in history to play in both a UEFA Euro final and a FIFA World Cup final.
Davido had previously publicly backed Spain to win the tournament after African teams and his favorite player, Cristiano Ronaldo, were eliminated. The singer attributed his support for the European side to his friendly relationship with Yamal’s mother.
