Mohamed Salah’s proposed move to Turkish club Besiktas has collapsed after both sides failed to reach an agreement.

The former Liverpool winger became a free agent after leaving the Premier League club at the end of the 2025/26 season.

He had been strongly linked with a move to Besiktas during the summer transfer window.

However, the deal broke down because the two parties could not agree on how revenue from shirt sales would be shared. There was also a disagreement over the commission requested by Salah’s agent.

With the transfer now off, Besiktas are expected to turn their attention to other top players before the transfer window closes.

Salah, who helped Egypt reach the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup before they were knocked out by Argentina, will now continue his search for a new club.
