Flamingos head coach Akeem Busari says his team must improve on their performance against Benin Republic, DAILY POST reports.
Nigeria laboured to a 3-2 victory over the Young Amazons in the first leg of their 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final qualifying round fixture at the Remo Stars Sports Complex, Ikenne on Saturday.
The second leg is slated for Stade de Kégué in Lomé next weekend.
The Flamingos will need at least a draw to guarantee their qualification for the World Cup which will hold in Morocco later in the year.
Busari admitted that his players must put in more fight to secure the ticket.
“Everything now is about qualification. It won’t come by magic—it will come through hard work, determination and correcting the mistakes we made in the first leg,” Busari said after the game.
