Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has stirred debate after claiming his influence has surpassed that of late pop icon Michael Jackson.
Speaking during an interview on The Honest Bunch podcast, the singer cited his involvement in boxing promotion as evidence of his impact, arguing that it sets him apart from the legendary entertainer.
Defending his claim, Portable said Michael Jackson never ventured into boxing, promoted the sport, or secured boxing-related contracts.
“I blow pass Michael Jackson. Did Michael Jackson do boxing? Did he promote boxing? Did he collect the contract? No, no, don’t tell me that. I’m bigger than everything,” he said.
The remarks quickly sparked reactions on social media, with many users criticising the comparison.
