Ocholi Hails Tinubu, Ododo Over TETFund Board Appointment

A newly appointed member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Dr. Hassan Abdulrahman Ocholi, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for appointing him to represent the North-Central geopolitical zone, promising to justify the confidence reposed in him through dedicated and transparent service.

Ocholi also appreciated Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his support and encouragement, describing his appointment as a national call to contribute to the advancement of tertiary education in Nigeria.

In a statement issued following the announcement of his appointment by the Presidency, Ocholi said he was honoured by the opportunity to serve and pledged to work with other members of the Board to strengthen TETFund’s interventions in public tertiary institutions across the country.

“I am deeply grateful to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding me worthy of this important national assignment. I consider this appointment not merely as a personal recognition but as a call to serve Nigeria with integrity, diligence and patriotism in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.

He also commended Governor Ododo for his confidence in him, describing the governor’s commitment to the development of Kogi State and its people as a source of inspiration.

Ocholi assured the people of the North-Central zone that he would champion equitable access to TETFund intervention funds while promoting research, academic staff development and improved infrastructure in universities, polytechnics and colleges of education across the region.

He further pledged to carry out his responsibilities with transparency, accountability and fairness, adding that he would work closely with fellow board members and the management of TETFund to enhance the impact of the agency’s programmes.

The new board member also expressed appreciation to the people of Kogi State, particularly residents of Oganenigwu Ward in Dekina Local Government Area, for their prayers and unwavering support throughout his career.

A scientist, administrator and policy expert, Ocholi holds a PhD in Biological Sciences and postgraduate qualifications in Business Administration, Public Health, and Peace and Conflict Resolution.

President Tinubu, in announcing the appointment, charged the new Board member with providing effective oversight and strategic policy direction to support the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the education sector.

Established under the Tertiary Education Trust Fund Act, 2011, TETFund is responsible for managing education tax revenues to improve public universities, polytechnics and colleges of education through funding for infrastructure, research, academic staff training and other intervention programmes.
