Ogun commissioner calls for unity among Isese worshipers

Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Sesan Fagbayi, has called on Isese worshipers to maintain unity and embrace peace among themselves to ensure better recognition by the government.

Fagbayi spoke at a meeting with traditional worshippers across the four divisions of the state, held at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

He asserted that there was need for synergy and tolerance among all worshippers, noting that government would not recognise them separately except they approach the government jointly.

The commissioner commended traditional worshippers for the successful celebration of the 2025 combined Isese day, hoping for a more vibrant celebration this year.

He attested that Governor Dapo Abiodun cherished them for the atonement made to avert banditry and kidnapping incidents in the state, calling on worshippers to continue to support government and traditional rulers for the good of the state.

Also speaking, Director of Culture, Femi Osanyinpeju, said the meeting was organised to ensure proper preparations for a successful 2026 Isese day celebration, which is expected to capture all traditionalists across the state.

On his part, the Chairman of Onifa Yewa/Awori, Adebayo Adimula, appreciated the continuous support received from the Abiodun led government, saying that the gesture had given them hope in preserving culture and traditions.
