Nigerian singer, Augustine Tiles Kelechi, popularly known as Tekno, has cried out over the state of relationships, claiming that things changed after the Covid-19 pandemic.

While speaking with Cool FM, the singer explained that many people viewed their relationships after spending long periods with their partners.

Tekno stated that the lockdown period made many people realise that they were not compatible with their partners, leading to breakups and reluctance.

”People got to spend time with their partners that period so maybe they got to realize they don’t really like them. I feel like since then, people have leaned into this not wanting to love as much,” he stated.

The singer also lamented what he described as the decline of genuine romance, claiming that love used to play a central role in people’s lives and was a major theme in movies.

”Marriages don’t work. You even have some of our legends’ wives getting chopped by some of the new boys. There was a time where love was a thing, for real. Even our movies revolved around love. Now our movies are just clout and influencing. It doesn’t feel organic. If you can’t appreciate the absence, the presence doesn’t really makes sense,” he stated.
