The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Taraba State, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, has named Aminu Zakari as his running mate.
Announcing the decision in a statement, Bwacha said the choice followed extensive consultations with party leaders, traditional and religious leaders, youth and women groups, political associates, and other stakeholders across the state.
He noted that the selection aligns with the campaign’s renewed drive to build a united, prosperous, inclusive, and secure Taraba State.

According to the statement, Zakari is a civil engineer and procurement professional with more than 14 years of public service experience. Bwacha described him as possessing the competence and integrity needed to support the administration’s vision.
“Our ticket represents unity, inclusiveness, competence and a shared commitment to moving Taraba State forward. We are determined to provide transparent, accountable and people-centred leadership that will unlock the immense potential of our state, restore confidence in governance and deliver meaningful development across all 16 local government areas,” Bwacha said.
He thanked party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters for their contributions to the selection process and urged PDP members to remain united ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Bwacha also expressed confidence that, with the support of the people of Taraba State, the PDP would secure victory at the polls and reclaim what he described as its stolen mandate.
