The 18 first-term governors elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in a communiqué issued after extensive deliberations in Kebbi State, have unanimously condemned attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
They added that the sacrifices of Nigerians during this period of economic reforms are not forgotten or ignored, as the federal government is undertaking huge economic reforms to chart a new course.
“We are aware that every Nigerian is feeling the heat of economic reforms being undertaken by Tinubu-led government but we won’t abandon the reforms before it comes to fruition. We appeal to Nigerians to support the reforms,” they said.
The governors also condemned the attack and abduction of school children across the country and called for prompt action against all forms of attacks on Nigerians, saying every Nigerian deserves protection.
Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, who read the communiqué, stated that governors seeking second term in office will speak to their people in practical terms through the jobs they executed in their various states.
“As first-term governors, we need the support of people at all levels as we go to them to seek their cooperation and support we will show them what we did in agriculture, health, security and education,” he said.
The governors pledged unmitigated support to the Tinubu-led government.
