2027: Accord Support Group Reaffirms Backing For Gbenga Hashim

The Accord Alliance Movement (AAM), a support group for the presidential ambition of Dr. Gbenga Joel Olawepo-Hashim, on Wednesday reaffirmed its backing for his 2027 presidential bid during the inauguration of the group in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, the Director-General of the group, Hon. Light Adah Adoko, alleged that some individuals within the Accord Party were attempting to frustrate Hashim’s emergence as the party’s presidential candidate.

Adoko maintained that Hashim remained the party’s sole presidential aspirant and argued that any attempt to deny him the party’s ticket would undermine internal democracy.

According to him, the support group was established to promote internal democracy within the Accord Party and mobilise support for Hashim’s presidential ambition ahead of the 2027 general election.

He also criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu over what he described as its handling of insecurity, economic challenges and the rising cost of living, saying the country required a change in leadership.

Adoko said the group would embark on nationwide mobilisation to expand its membership and strengthen grassroots support for Hashim and the Accord Party ahead of the 2027 elections.

He called on members and supporters to remain united as preparations for the polls gather momentum.

The event was attended by members of the support group and supporters of the Accord Party, who pledged to continue mobilising support for Hashim’s presidential aspiration and the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
