Anambra Monarch Advises Govt Appointees To Promote Accountability

The traditional ruler of Umueri, Anambra-East LGA of Anambra State, Igwe Ben Izuchukwu Emeka has charged members of Anambra Patriots holding political positions to practice the group’s mantra which is transparency and accountability in governance.

The monarch gave the admonition over the weekend when the group honoured three of their members appointed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo in different capacities in his administration.

Anambra Patriot, is a grassroots campaign group of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) government in the state that championed Soludo’s re-election at the grassroots ahead of the election pledging to the people of the state that Soludo would deliver good governance anchored on transparency and accountability.

Those honoured by the group were the group’s convener/founder, Chief Okey Ezeobi (Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure); Mr. Alfred Agbata (Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, Anambra state ICT Agency), and, the group’s chairman, Chief Damian Ejiamatu Enekwechi ( President, Anambra state Country Club).

Igwe Emeka reminded the appointees how their group went round the grassroots, campaigned for Soludo’s re-election promising the people that the administration would run a people-oriented administration that would be defined by transparency and accountability, and, urged them to distinguish themselves in their respective offices by showcasing their group’s mantra.

“Now that you are in the government, try to prove yourselves; don’t seek personal rewards, work hard so that the people of the state will see what you have done and reward you “, the monarch urged the appointee.

Expressing gratitude for the honour given them the awardees in their respective speeches promised that they would not let the group down.

The Works and Infrastructure Commissioner Enekwechi for instance stated that he would do everything possible to do the group, and, indeed, Soludo and the people of the state proud while in office.
