Popular comedian cum actor, Bright Okpocha, known as Basketmouth, has paid tribute to his late family members and celebrity friends.
He shared a comic video on his Instagram and X, taking a swipe at the government. He said that if he had invested the 27 years he spent in his comedy career in selling drugs or entering politics instead, he would have become the President of Nigeria by now.
In his caption, he told his lost parents, brother, Sound Sultan, and Kayode Peters to rest in peace, saying their memories and impact will stay with him.
“REST IN PEACE to the ones I hold closest to my heart: my parents, my eldest brother, Ogologo (Ifeanyi), Sound Sultan, and Kayode Peters, who directed the comedy series Flatmates.
You may be gone, but your love, memories, and impact will stay with me forever.”
The film and stage producer, Kayode Peters, died in June 2025 in Canada. He was finally laid to rest on August 2nd in Canada. His funeral service was held at the McKersie & Early House Funeral Home before his body was moved to the Milton Evergreen Cemetery in Ontario, where it was interred.
