Gov Otu Resolves APC Central Senatorial Candidacy Dispute

The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, has announced the resolution of the issues surrounding the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidacy for the Central Senatorial District.

Speaking after a meeting held earlier today at his residence, at the instance of Governor Bassey Otu, the Deputy Governor disclosed that all matters pending before the courts have been withdrawn in the interest of party unity and progress.

Rt. Hon. Odey expressed appreciation to Senator Eteng Jones Williams for his maturity, understanding, and statesmanship throughout the process.

“Earlier this morning in my residence, at the instance of His Excellency the Governor of CRS, we put to rest the issue of the candidacy of the position of Senate in the central sentetorial district of our great party, the APC. Accordingly, all matters pending in courts have been withdrawn.

“I thank Sen. E. J. Williams for his maturity and understanding on this matter. I call on all our supporters and people of the Central Sentetorial District to rally behind our candidate, Hon. Oden Ewa,” Odey said in a Facebook post.

He called on all APC supporters and the good people of the Central Senatorial District to unite behind the party’s candidate, Hon. Oden Ewa, and work together to secure victory for the APC in the forthcoming elections.

The Deputy Governor also appealed to party faithful to put aside all differences, embrace the collective decision reached, and remain committed to the unity, peace, and success of the party.

“I also appeal to all our supporters to sheath their sword and accept fully the decision to support Hon. Oden Ewa and the APC in the forthcoming elections,” Odey added.
