Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has credited President Bola Tinubu with providing the support that has enabled the execution of major road projects and other infrastructure across the state.
Speaking at the flag-off of 11 new road projects in Zaria and Sabon Gari Local Government Areas, the governor described the president as a key partner in the state’s development efforts.
He said Kaduna was among the states selected to benefit from the Federal Government’s light rail initiative, noting that the proposed ₦1 trillion Kaduna Light Rail Project is expected to commence within the next two months, with contractors already mobilised.
The governor also announced that the groundbreaking ceremony for the Mando–Birnin Gwari Road project would be held within the next week. According to him, the Federal Government has released funds for the project.

Sani said the developmental projects being executed in Kaduna State were made possible through collaboration between the state and Federal Governments. He called on residents to continue supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC) and urged them to re-elect Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, as well as support President Tinubu in future elections.
On the road projects flagged off, the governor assured residents that all 11 roads in Zaria and Sabon Gari would be completed and commissioned within the next five months.
He said the projects form part of the state’s Urban Renewal and Rural Transformation Programme, aimed at expanding economic opportunities and improving the quality of life of residents.
“Roads are more than stretches of asphalt. They connect communities to opportunities, farmers to markets, businesses to customers, students to schools and patients to healthcare,” the governor said.
He added that his administration has initiated 150 road projects covering more than 1,355 kilometres, with the majority already completed, describing the programme as part of efforts to ensure equitable development across the state.
Also speaking at the event, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, praised President Tinubu’s commitment to Kaduna State, citing recent developments in the education sector.
Abbas said the administration upgraded the Federal College of Education, Zaria, to a Federal University of Education, established a Federal University of Applied Sciences, and converted another federal institute into a university.
He further disclosed that President Tinubu is considering upgrading Kaduna Polytechnic to a Federal University of Technology, a move he said would increase the number of universities in Kaduna State to five if approved.
