How we rescued abducted NECO candidates, principal – Kogi Govt

Kogi State government has revealed how it rescued abducted students who were writing the National Examination Council, NECO, and the principal of their school.

Speaking on Channels Television’s ‘Morning Show’ on Friday, Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, said the state governor did not waste time to launch a manhunt for the kidnappers

He added that the governor immediately summoned the state security adviser and mandated him to immediately coordinate efforts to ensure their immediate rescue, adding that within hours, the army, the police, the DSS, the civil defense, the vigilante, the local hunters swung into action and saturated the place.

“We were also able to deploy technology to track the movement of those kidnappers and then all their exit points where they usually take their victims through were were blocked. We cut off their logistics.

“We were also on hand and there was tremendous pressure on them. The entire place was saturated with security operatives, and they had no choice than to quickly abandon the victims because of the hot pursuit, and they knew that such would lead to their deaths.

“We didn’t stop at that. Despite the fact that we were able to rescue victims, we went after the kidnappers. I won’t say much of their fate right now but I think they are accounts of their terrible deeds,” the commissioner said.

DAILY POST recalls that the State Government on Thursday announced the rescue of four persons kidnapped during the recent attack in Olowa, Dekina Local Government Area of the State.
