Karu, Keffi, Akwanga To Face Outages As TCN Schedules Apo Substation Maintenance

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a planned maintenance shutdown at the Apo 132kV Transmission Substation in Abuja on Tuesday, July 7, 2026.

In a notice issued Monday, TCN’s Abuja Region said the maintenance will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will allow crews to service the Apo–Karu–Keffi–Akwanga 132kV transmission line bay and its associated switchgears.

In the notice signed by the general manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, TCN warned that the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to off-take bulk power from the Karu, Keffi and Akwanga transmission substations during the works

As a result, customers served through those substations are likely to experience power interruptions for the duration of the maintenance.

The utility apologised for any inconvenience the outage may cause.
