Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the 15 August Osun State governorship election, has assured the electorate of a violence-free poll, urging them to disregard rumours of unrest.
Mr Oyebamiji gave the assurance on Wednesday at a rally in Odo-Otin area of the state, stating that no one would be allowed to intimidate or harass voters participating in the election.
The APC candidate warned that any thug or hoodlum caught harassing the electorate would be dealt with by security operatives.
He also expressed optimism about winning the election, adding that his victory would usher in a new era of development in the state.
Mr Oyebamiji urged voters to safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and not sell them for any reason.
“Don’t sell your PVC. It is your power and licence to participate in the election.

“I urge you to keep your PVC safe. Those who recently registered should ensure they collect it on time,” he said.
He further promised that, if he is elected governor, his administration would not discriminate against any part of the state.
“Our manifesto will address every sector.
“For rural areas, our focus is to leverage agriculture to boost the economy and provide basic infrastructure that will support farmers and reduce hunger.
“I will ensure that health, education and commerce receive the necessary attention,” he said.
