Papyrus Global To Honour 100 Lawmakers

Papyrus Global plans to honour 100 exceptional legislators from across the world at the Global 100 Most Outstanding Lawmakers Conference and Awards.

The initiative aims to promote legislative excellence, democratic governance and international parliamentary cooperation.

The conference and awards programme, formerly known as the Papyrus Most Outstanding Lawmakers Conference and Awards (PAMOLAA) has been rebranded as GLOMOLAA, reflecting the organisation’s expanded vision of creating a globally recognised platform that celebrates outstanding legislative leadership while strengthening democratic institutions.

Speaking on the initiative, the GLOMOLAA project initiator, Hon. Doofan Damsa Justin, described the rebranding as a strategic step towards building a credible global institution for legislative development.

According to the organisers, the transformation marked a significant milestone in the initiative’s evolution from a recognition programme into a comprehensive international platform dedicated to advancing parliamentary excellence, policy innovation, institutional reforms, and democratic accountability.

The organisation explained that GLOMOLAA will bring together lawmakers, parliamentary administrators, governments, diplomatic missions, development partners, governance experts, academic institutions, civil society organisations, private sector leaders and the media to foster collaboration and promote best legislative practices across continents.

“The transition from PAMOLAA to GLOMOLAA represents more than a change of name. It reflects our commitment to building a credible global institution that promotes legislative excellence, democratic accountability, institutional collaboration, and the exchange of best parliamentary practices across nations. We envision GLOMOLAA as a platform that inspires lawmakers, strengthens parliamentary institutions, and contributes meaningfully to democratic development around the world,” he said.

Justin noted that effective legislatures remain fundamental to sustainable development, accountable governance, peace and democratic stability, stressing that GLOMOLAA seeks to encourage transparency, quality legislation, effective oversight, constituency representation, institutional reforms, policy innovation and stronger international parliamentary cooperation.

He added that beyond recognising the world’s 100 most outstanding lawmakers, the conference would provide a high-level platform for policy dialogue, capacity building, networking and knowledge exchange among parliamentary leaders and governance stakeholders from different regions.

According to the organisers, the conference is designed to facilitate the exchange of practical solutions to contemporary legislative and governance challenges while strengthening partnerships among democratic institutions.

The Papyrus Global further stated that the awards will continue to recognise lawmakers and parliamentary institutions that demonstrate measurable impact in legislation, oversight, constituency representation, public policy, transparency, accountability, institutional development and international legislative engagement.

The organisation maintained that stronger legislatures, visionary leadership and sustained institutional collaboration are critical to improving democratic governance and delivering better outcomes for citizens.
