Protect Ngazargamu’s Rich Heritage Through Unity, Peaceful Coexistence – Buni

Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has called on the people of the Ngazargamu Emirate to remain united and live peacefully in order to preserve the emirate’s rich cultural, commercial and Islamic heritage.

A statement from the director general Press Affairs and Media to the Governor, Alh. Mamman Mohammed said Buni made the call when the new Emir of Ngazargamu, Alhaji Mahmud Ibn Mustapha, led a delegation of traditional title holders, community leaders and other subjects on a thank-you visit to the Government House, Damaturu.

The governor urged the people to rally behind the new Emir and give him the necessary support to ensure a successful and beneficial reign, stressing that peace and unity remain the foundation for meaningful development.

“The Ngazargamu Emirate is renowned for commerce and Islamic education. It is your collective responsibility to sustain and improve these great legacies as development can only be achieved in a peaceful atmosphere,” Governor Buni said.

He congratulated the Emir on his appointment and expressed confidence in his ability to provide purposeful leadership that would strengthen unity and promote development across the emirate.

The governor also assured the Emir and the people of the state’s continued support for traditional institutions, describing them as indispensable partners in promoting peace, stability and grassroots development.

Speaking on behalf of the Emirate, the Waziri of Ngazargamu, Alhaji Baba Kankare, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Buni for approving the choice of the people as the new Emir.

“Your Excellency, you gave us our choice, the people’s will. We appreciate you so much and thank you very much,” the Waziri said.

He pledged the unwavering support and loyalty of the Emir, the traditional institution and the people of the emirate to the Buni administration, assuring the governor that the Emirate would continue to work with the government in promoting peace, unity and sustainable development.
