Remi Tinubu Inaugurates Digital Health Facilities In Jigawa

First lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has inaugurated two digital health facilities in Jigawa State.

The facilities, Academic Healthcare Research Facility and Primary Healthcare Hospital, equipped with digital equipment for improving effective research and public healthcare service delivery in Jigawa State, were established by the National Information Technology Development Agency and FutureMap Foundation and eHealth Africa.

Speaking during the official commissioning of the facilities established in the ancient city of Hadejia in Jigawa State, the first lady said, the provision of the two facilities was in tandem with president Bola Ahmad Tinubu Renewal Hope agenda which includes delivering effective public service delivery.

She assured the people of Jigawa State of Federal Government’s commitment to continue collaborating with government agencies, public and private institutions, donor partners and community organization for improving social and economic wellbeing of Nigerians.

According to her, the primary healthcare facility was constructed and equipped by FutureMap Foundation and eHealth Africa in Hadejia aimed at making basic and critical  healthcare service delivery affordable and accessible for every person in the state and Nigeria at large.

She added that Healthcare facility which was named as  Senator Oluremi Tinubu Clinic is expected to   serves as both a primary healthcare provider and a practical deployment ground for the Health-Tech solutions developed in the FabLab.

“The clinic is designed to bring critical, life-saving services closer to the people. The dedicated dialysis centre directly addresses the heavy burden of chronic kidney disease in the region, providing vital treatment locally so patients no longer need to travel hundreds of kilometers.

“However the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Future Academy was also established in collaboration with NITDA through Renewal Hope agenda designed as a comprehensive, sustainability-integrated institution designed to translate technical knowledge into viable economic value and community solutions.

“The campus features specialized zones tailored for different stages of the innovation lifecycle. Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) & Maker Space: A state-of-the-art hardware and prototyping facility. While fully equipped for general robotics and AI hardware development.

“The institutions has a lab that has highly specialized focus on Health-Tech:Health Wearables: Research and development of diagnostic wearables, particularly focused on internal metal detection to assist in the early identification of kidney stones and related diseases.”

“Also there is an advanced Prosthetics: End-to-end prosthetic development capabilities, utilizing high-precision 3D scanning, 3D printing (FFF/FDM), mold making, and advanced casting techniques”.

“The digital driven institution will served as a training ground and centre for solution to healthcare issue, social and economic challenge,” Senator Tinubu revealed.
