Popular Nigerian social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has been honoured with a prestigious traditional title by the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi.

Critic during his visit to the royal palace in Iwo, Osun State.
According to palace sources, the honour was given to VDM in recognition of his relentless social media advocacy, his fight against injustice, and his efforts to support the less privileged.
Commending the critic, Oba Akanbi praised VDM’s courage in speaking truth to power and challenging societal ills. The monarch urged him to remain steadfast and continue using his platform to promote accountability and development across Nigeria.
Responding to the honour, an excited VeryDarkMan expressed his profound gratitude to the Oluwo of Iwo and the royal cabinet. He promised to uphold the responsibilities of the “Atayese” title and to continue advocating for the rights of the common man.
